The variety show cum exhibition programme telling the Yuen Long story was held again at Christian Family Service Centre, Kwun Tong on 25 March 2023. More than 50 artists of our Agency brought the story to Kowloon, engaging people from the community and promoting the notion of equal participation and social inclusion with art performances and creations. The programme had the presence of Ms. Tsang Fung Yee, Senior Social Work Officer concerned with the Arts Development Fund for Persons with Disabilities managed by the Social Welfare Department.

As stated by Mr. Leung Kai Lok, Vice-chairperson of our Board of Directors, we were glad that we could get out of Yuen Long to show the art talent of persons with disabilities to more people and, furthermore, without the requirement of wearing a surgical mask, we could see the beautiful faces of the performers and their facial expressions that they were fully involved in the performances. We could feel their eagerness and earnestness.

After a period of more than two years, the “Portraying Yuen Long with Art” Project concluded satisfactorily with the performers’ and the audience’s smiling faces. We would like to express our thanks once again to the Arts Development Fund for Persons with Disabilities for the funding provided, to the instructors of the art classes for their painstaking instruction to the participants, and to each of the artists for their enthusiasm towards art work and art performances.
