With funding from the Arts Development Fund for Persons with Disabilities managed by the Social Welfare Department, our Agency commenced the “Portraying Yuen Long with Art” Project to nurture service users’ art capabilities in 2021. Kitty, an artist in the project, showed her talent for drawing. She drew pictures of places distinguished for Yuen Long, including Nam Sang Wai, Tai Tong, ancestral halls and others. Some of the pictures were selected by the Labour and Welfare Bureau to be exhibited in its office for two years for visitors’ viewing.

Recently Kitty met Secretary for Labour and Welfare Mr. Chris Sun to share her ideas in drawing the pictures. We will continue to use art and culture as a medium to develop service users’ potentials in different areas, deepen our connection with the community and promote integration between people with and people without disabilities.
